Lee is a Principal at Starr Whitehouse leading our planning, urban design, and resilience practice. Combining decades of municipal and consulting experience with a deep understanding of agency, community and stakeholder relations, Lee advances our integrated practice by building new bridges between public and private sectors. Her time in city government and past work with architects, artists, scientists and public health professionals give Lee a multifaceted perspective on integrating urban design and resilient public infrastructure — critical in a field where problems and solutions alike cut across jurisdictional and geographic boundaries. Before joining Starr Whitehouse, she was a Principal at SCAPE, where she led many of the firm’s marquee resilience projects, as well as a design liaison at the NYC Department of Design and Construction, where she led initiatives to improve public health outcomes through evidence-based practices, policy, and built environment design. A recognized thought leader, Lee has lectured across the country and contributed to dozens of industry publications and exhibitions. She served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia GSAPP for over a decade, where she received her Master’s and was awarded the Lucille Smyser Lowenfish Memorial Prize, the GSAPP Honor Award for Excellence, and the William Kinne Travel Fellowship.
