Zen Beattie

Studio and Production Assistant

A native Australian, Zen grew up navigating between Sydney and its adjacent shorelines and nature reserves. After moving to New York in 2012, he developed an interest in incorporating a greater sense of nature into the dense urban environment through parklands and architectural interventions. Working out of the New York studio, Zen supports design teams with expertise in 3D modeling, visualization, and computation. For Anderson Plaza, a redesigned urban center in New Rochelle, NY, Zen enhanced community engagement using knowledge of virtual reality tools to involve residents and stakeholders in the creative process. For the restoration of Bear Mountain State Park, Zen’s support in schematic design and development phases helped to bring the greater vision to life. Zen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bennington College in 2021.
